How to apply on behalf of a service user or client
If you are an advice or support worker supporting a client to apply, there are two options
Option 1:
Assist your client to make an application
This will include helping them create or update their Lightning Reach profile, complete the application form and supply a supporting statement. To use this route, return to the Apply for a Hardship Grant for Yourself page.
Option 2:
Apply on your client’s behalf
To apply on behalf of a client, you must have a Lightning Reach Support Worker licence.
Small organisations can apply for one free licence.
Larger organisations that need more than one licence must buy additional licences.
The current cost is £100 plus VAT per licence, per year.
To request a Support Worker licence, contact hello@lightningreach.org. Each licence is issued to one person and cannot be shared by multiple people using the same email address. For more information, visit Partners | Lightning Reach.
Once you have your licence, follow these steps:
- Select “Add new client” to create a separate account for the client.
- Complete the client’s profile so Lightning Reach can match them with other grants and support.
- To apply to National Benevolent Charity, go to “Support Matches”.
- Select “National Benevolent Charity”, then click “Apply”.
Before you apply, check whether the client already has a Lightning Reach profile. If they do, you must request access to their profile before completing the application.
